In August 2014, I started a challenging and exciting adventure that comes to a partial end today. I had the honor to be the initiator host and organizer of the CreativeMornings events in Mexico City; a monthly breakfast lecture series that seek to spread inspiration throughout the world.
With the support of an amazing team of talented and generous people, we made possible one conference each month during 2 years and a half. But most importantly, we take pride on setting the ground for a beautiful and vibrant community.
I mentioned before that this is a partial end because I am handing out my role as Host. I will not be directly in charge of the organization of the events but I will stay around in the team as mentor and will always be part of the CreativeMornings global community. The one I now consider my extended family.
I have to say it has been an amazing ride. Belonging to the CreativeMornings family is the best takeaway, I feel the support and awesomeness of the global community every day. As Paul Jun said:
“It feels good to know that beautiful, wholehearted people exist in the world, and that when we come together, the change we seek to create is more likely to happen.”
My heart is filled with gratitude for so many people, from the ones that helped me at the very beginning: the CMMX dreamteam, my husband and mentor; to our amazing HQ team at NYC for the opportunity, and all our global and local partners/sponsors that strongly believe in the power of community (specially Shutterstock ).
When I first dreamed about bringing CreativeMornings to Mexico City I was seeking to be part of something that mattered, a project that allowed me to impact the lives of more people, rather than just the clients at my design firm. I wanted to contribute on something bigger. In CreativeMornings I found that, and so so much more. I learned about generosity, empathy, collaboration, leadership…this list could go on and on.
These are my favorite CM moments:
Something that I am most proud of is that we made possible adding subtitles to our videos. This enable us to share the CMMX inspiration with a larger audience. Yay! Special thanks to Paula Villanueva from The cup of words. We also have the fantastic help of Alida Ramos on interpreting live with sign language. Ain’t that super cool?

When people comes to CreativeMornings, they come for the conference, but they stay for the community. - Scott Heiferman
The best part of CreativeMornings is definitely the amazing people you get to meet there. If you have never attended an event you can look here for the nearest to you, once you go I am sure you will understand what I am talking about.
And if you are interested on starting a chapter on your city here is all the info you need.
This project as Tina says, is bigger than her, than me, than us (the teams), it has a heart by itself and it will not stop growing, it will only get stronger, because the world needs a huge dosis of inspiration and communities like this one to celebrate diversity, love, and inclusion.
Thank you all!
